Harry Potter merchandise research

The games that are already available are games such as The risk, Cluedo and Monopoly. The target for each of these games is of the age between 3 and up due to the label/sticker at the bottom of the board game cover. This gives it a way a bit because it shows how many people can play the game at once which is important when it comes to playing the game.
The target audience for this game is ages 9 and up because it clearly says it on the box at the bottom of the board game cover. The target audience is anyone between the ages 9 and adult because of the plus 9 label at the bottom of the box. The game is for 2 to 4 players showing how many at the most should play the game. Children could probably enjoy this game because of the fact that there is a 9 plus age stickers showing this on the box. This game looks very similar to Cluedo because of the way the board has been layed out.  The aim of the game is to find out who, what and where a certain event is happening using different clues. This is a Harry Potter game so it is Harry Potter related. In this case it is the world of magic due to the theme. This game keeps to the theme of Harry Potter of the way the game has been related to Harry Potter. I like the fact that there has been a slogan grabbing the readers attention to play the game. The characteristics of the front page of the cover design is a simple photo/ picture of the 3 key characters of Harry, Hermione  and Ron. Also the front cover uses a catchy slogan to take you into the world of Harry Potter. It makes you feel as though you are physically in the Harry Potter World due to the catchy slogan. I like the Discover the magic because it shows and highlights a secret between the three main characters.  The facial expressions on the board game indicate that something is wrong between the characters, and that they are desperately needing your help.  http://www.geekalerts.com/u/World-of-Harry-Potter-Clue-Game2.jpg

The target audience for this game is any age. It is many aimed for 2-8 players. I know this because of the sticker on the top left corner of the board game giving this information away. It is aimed for ages 8- adult. This game is similar to monopoly because of the double. This is basically monopoly but the designer has made it Harry Potter related. The aim of this game is to go around the board buying different properties and earning the most money throughout the game. The name of the game clearly stands out form the rest of it. It catches my eye because of the fact that it has been spilt between the two parts of the board showing there is a variety to the game. The characteristics of the front cover design is that it shows the two different sides to the Harry Potter world. The good side and the bad side. I like the fact that the board shows the different sides through colour. This shows who is good and who is bad throughout the series due tot he board game. It also shows who is good and who is bad in the board game due to the spilt through the cover. The title has been spilt to indicate the difference between the two sides of characters. The slogan that has been used for the board game shows how catchy it grabs people into playing this simple game. It gives you the feeling that you are inside the game due to the different sides of the game/ the curtain thing in the middle. of the sides.

The target audience and the age range that people can play the game is any age. This is because there isn't any sticker showing the ages. There is a PG sticker showing that the game is mainly aimed for ages 8 and up due to the  PG sticker.  This game is a Dvd game aswell as a  card game. The way you play this game is that each player or teams select a token. They then attempt to take the token and move around the board into the winner's circle by answering questions.  A shorter version can be used if needs be. The characteristics of the front cover is that the main character  is trying to grab your attention into playing the game. A bit like direct address with the way they are holding their wand. The other characters are close behind showing that they aren't as important as the main charac ter. Harry in this case.  The slogan on the game of Scene it/the question highlights that the game needs their help. It also shows that a rhetorical question has been used to grab the players attention for them to start playing the game. You can't really see the slogan because it has been sneaked in just in front of Hermione giving the impression that she is trying to hide something  important. It feels as though you are being pulled straight into the game because of the fact that Harry is pointing his wand straight at you showing that he wants you to join him in a magical adventure. The other characters behind the main three show and indicate that there is some sort of maze going on between them that the player has to identity and sort out using their imagination.

The target audience that the game is aimed for is ages 8 to adult, players of 3 to 6 players. This is because of the white label clearly shown on the right hand side of the cover. The board game cover gives the impression that you are in the magical world of Harry Potter. The board game cover is a birds eye view because you can only see the top of the houses. The cover has been made into the staircase of the world of Harry Potter. This has been made by the cover background being turned around slightly to look like the Harry Potter stairs. The aim of the  game is to collect items inside some shops by moving around the board using both dice. The characteristics of the front cover design shows the world of Harry Potter through imagination. The slogan is very eye catching because it grabs the attention of anyone who wants to play this board game.  The dice on the front cover of the board game highlights that the board game has something to do with 3d. This is because of the way that the designer has drawn the dice jumping out of the game. The board game also catches my eye because of the way that the cover has been drawn to grab the designers attention. There isn't any characters on this cover of the board game showing that it is effective with just the background/ the main set or scene.  It feels like the cover is a cartoon style because of the way that it has been drawn. The dice on the cover also gives the shadow effect because of the fact that it has been shown to bounce around the game. This gives the effect of the dice being picked up and bounced around the board.
