1. I have found this strange creature from the Harry Potter Films which I think would work in a board game. It looks as though it doesn't like whoever is staring at it. This is because of the way the creature is looking towards the camera. The pumpkins in the background give the creature more of a scary feeling. This is because pumpkins are scary and I think that the creature in this photo looks scary with the face. The camera has perfectly shot this creature because you can clearly see the background behind the creature. The background gives it a mythical feeling because of the way the path bends round the creature instead of behind the creature. It looks as though this creature is about to squish a pumpkin due to its angriness because of its claws holding the pumpkin as if it is a dog. In my opinion it looks as though this creature has been merged between two birds because of the detailed features on the face. The face of the creatures gives it more of an angry creature instead of a lovely happy creature. The colours used in this shot is a dull colour giving the creature more mystery to it. The lighting that has been used in this shot straight away gives the creature a horror feeling as though something disturbing will happen to the main characters wit the face of the creature. If I was to recreate this creature I would probably use the wing body part. This is because this part looks more mysterious of the body then the rets of it. The pattern and detailed used to create this creature gives it the bird feeling just from the detail of the feathers. The shot that has been used to create this creature/shot would be Rule of thirds because you can see the background, the creature and the foreground of where the creature is and what it is doing. This shot could be a shallow depth of field because the background in the distant is slightly blurred/faded out/ The main subject in this shot is the creature because it is the only thing on the shot has been captured the most clear.
2. This image is of Dobby. The magical creature who is Harry's friend. He is kind of both a creature and a character. He is a creature because of the fact that he doesn't look human with his goblin type ears and body. He is a character because his face looks almost human and Harry likes him as a friend. The type of shot that has been used for this shot would be a close up mainly of Dobby's face. This gives the expression/ mood that Dobby is upset about something because he looks very sad in this sad. It gives the message that he has seen something bad like a ghost or a creature that is after him, because of his very sad face. I think that the shot close up has been used to create the upset feeling in Dobby's face. I think that this is the reaction that the audience is supposed to feel when they watch the films with this shot or character in it. The lighting that ahs been used for this shot is mainly a dark lighting. This shot is very similar to Film Noir with the background. This is because of the dark lighting used for the background behind Dobby. Shadows have been used for this shot causing the horrorness of the shot. I also think that the shot has purposely used shadows to show that the background is supposed to be creepy, dark and horror like. The main focus/key point that you are being drawn to whilst looking at this shot is Dobby's reaction. He is the main focus in the shot that you can't miss him whilst looking at the shot. It gives the feeling that he is the most important character in this shot compared to other shots. The action that has been captured could have been another creature trying to be very mean to Dobby with his reaction on the face. If I was to recreate this creature I would use his head because that is the most creature like part on him that I think is sweet. I would keep in the face expression because it gives the feeling of what Dobby is inside his skin. This shot could be a mid shot because the camera could be about to go down to Dobby's legs to show the audience what he really looks like behind this shot.
3. I have researched and found this creature that has been used for the Harry Potter Films. I think it looks very scary especially with the triple heads. This is more of a dog creature then a mythical creature because the three heads have the same face just slightly turned on the ends. This shot is probably another close up because you can clearly see the faces heading towards the camera. This is also a birds eye view because it looks as though you are looking down onto the dog creature instead of in front of the dog creature. The subject matter in this shot would be the three dogged head creature trying to eat one of the characters. This is because of their fanged teeth and facial expression of anger ness. In this shot you can only see the heads of the dogs showing that it is a birds eye view shot. The lighting that has been used to create this shot would be bright lighting. I think some lamps have been used to create this creature because of the bright background colour. The window on the bottom left of the screen looks as though there is ice on the outside because of the lighting used to create the ice. The facial expressions used on the dog creature indicates that it isn't very happy with people going past it. It is as though it is a guard stopping people from walking past the creature. I would use the head parts of the creature if I was to recreate the photo because the heads looks more like the creature. I would only use half the head because you can't see the body of the dogs. The lighting in the background shows just how angry the dog creature is. The key points of interest is the fact that the three headed dog creature is stopping people from going past them without them looking angry. It looks as though the creature is heading straight towards the camera with the heads ready to jump at the camera people.
4. I have found this creature used in the Harry Potter Films which I think looks strange. It looks like an octopus crossed with CGI to create the rets of the creature. The shot type that has been used for this shot would be shallow depth of field because the background is blurred. It looks as though the creature is some kind of fish because of the way it is standing in the murky waters. The subject matter in this shot is this creature looking as though it is swimming in the murky waters. If you look closely in the background there is like a blue portal which looks like the way out of the water. I think that this creature is trying to stop Harry from entering the rets of the waters because it has its hands out ready to pounce at Harry. This creature looks a little disturbing in this shot because of the fact that it has no skin which slightly creeps me out. The facial expression used on this creature is kind of angry kind of happy with the way its face is looking. The mouth isn't fully happy but it isn't fully angry or sad either. The mood/emotion that this shot uses is a scary but happy shot because of the creature that doesn't look as scary as some as the others. I think that the key point of interest in this shot is the fact that Harry is in the water trying to get past this creature without it stopping him. I can tell it is an octopus because of the legs that the creature has. It looks like the creature is floating in the water with its legs all tangled round each other. In this shot the creature doesn't look as though it is doing very much because of the way it is standing in the water/floating in the water. This creature has influenced me to use for my project because it looks like a very unusual creature that wouldn't normally be used in a ordinary film or programme. The part of the creature that I would use is the legs. I would sue the legs because they look very interesting to use in a creature. I would also use the legs to create another creature because of the way the legs are used in this particular shot.
5. I have found this creature on the internet that I could use for my final creature. This creature is the dying creature that Harry meets when he half dies in the very last film. The shot that has been used for this photo would be a close up. I think that it is also a low- angle shot because it was probably taken from underneath the table that this creature was dying underneath. The subject matter in this shot is when this creatures dies when Harry is in a dream after being half killed by Voldermort. This creature is slightly creepy because of the fact that the blood has been used on the creature to the create this dying creepy creature. The lighting that has been used is a very light lighting because you can see the white background which shows the lighting was bright. I think that lots of lamps were used to create this lighting because of the fact that the lighting is very bright. The mood/emotion that the shot is supposed to show is of a dying creature. It is supposed to make people/the audience feel sorry for the creature that has been killed. I think this because of the facia; expression on the creature. The creature looks slightly disturbed before eventually dying in front of Harry. The key point of interest would be the fact that the creators have captured the blood part of the creature very well. It shows that a different creature or character has shot this creature showing the blood stains.,marks on this creature. If I was to recreate this creature, I would use the leg part of the creature because this is the least creepy part of the creature. This would make a very interesting creature if I use the bottom half of the creature.
I have taken some photos of the making of the Harry Potter films. I have done this so I can use them in my final project. I have taken a photo of this dragon bird statue to show as a creature that was used as one of the sets of the Harry Potter Films. The statue sort of represents a dragon becauee of the facial expressions of the teeth and mouth. The lighting that is behind the creature on the wall gives it more more of a mystery to it as though something has happened to the statued creature. It looks as though it is about to fly off into the world. The creature/location looks as though it is about to pounce at the camera which is why I like the creature. In my opinion it is also a location because of the fact that this statue is hanging from the ceiling of one of the main sets used for the Harry Potter Films. The shadow at the bottom left makes the statue look as though it is slowly disappearing into the shadow that I like. I think this looks very effective because it shows some horror to the set which is perfect for Harry Potter. I turned my camera round to portrait to capture this creature/set perfectly. I feel like this location is great because it shows some detail to the
